Scoping Study for Holt Town East Manchester
BBP was commissioned by New East Manchester Ltd. and Cibitas Investments to undertake a Scoping Study of Holt Town in East Manchester. The study involved three stages of work: An initial review and audit of all of the issues affecting regeneration of the area in its wider context (planning, property market, ownerships, engineering, environmental etc); the preparation and appraisal of some initial development parameters and options, highlighting key constraints and opportunities; and finally, recommendations on the longer term implementation strategy and the key steps needed including the identification of strategic acquisitions. Preliminary negotiations helped us to develop a strategy whereby development partnerships and the utilisation of public sector sites together could provide the step-change in the development of the area providing visibility and a critical mass of development to support a range of inter-related uses from housing to leisure and retail.
