Forecasting Housing Trends in Northstowe
BBP was commissioned alongside Opinion Research Services and Cambridge Econometrics, to research housing aspirations for the New Town of Northstowe near Cambridge, including housing types, associated amenities and community services. This involved the modelling of housing tenures, including affordable and key worker housing, for a town of up to 10,000 dwellings. The research provided background information for the Strategic Housing Market Assessment for the Greater Cambridge Sub-region and followed on from a previous Strategic Sustainability Review prepared by BBP, Cambridge Econometrics, Alan Baxter and Colin Warnock Associates in 2005. BBP also helped English Partnerships and Gallagher Longstanton (joint promoters) prepare an economic development and employment strategy for Northstowe to feed into the emerging masterplan and planning application for the New Town.
