Operation Stack
Commissioned by the Channel Corridor Partnership, to undertake an Economic Impact Assessment of Operation Stack, which is brought into effect when the Channel crossing is shut for a period of time and Kent Police close off parts of the M20 to accommodate the lorry traffic that remains held up on the English side of the Channel. The Study considered Operation Stack’s actual and perceived effects on the Local Authority areas of Maidstone, Ashford and Shepway, as well as the greater Kent area. It also measured the impacts on the public sector, as well as private sector businesses throughout the Channel Corridor and beyond.
