Innovative Cluster Fund
We provided support and advice on the setting up, administration and issuing of grants under the Innovative Cluster Fund. This is a DTI initiative, now being managed by the LDA, aimed at supporting projects which bring added value through clustering within the key sectors of creative industries, IT and media design, manufacturing, biotechnology and social enterprise. With inputs in the early stages from SQW, we prepared a review of the strategic context for cluster initiatives geographically and sectorally, the development of systems for application decision making and monitoring, and subsequent evaluation and the preparation of Development proposal papers to ensure that applications are approached on a like-for-like basis. There was also a ‘hands on' role, which involved the revision of projects, making recommendations on their contribution to Cluster Fund objectives, advising on robustness and concluding applicant's funding agreements.
